A toilet door lock from the turn of the last century, which has been used e.g. In Finnish State Railways' 1st class train carriages, where the original model of this lock has been found. The lock is suitable for doors that open outwards. The lock has its own locking mechanism, so it is suitable to combine with a push-button lock, in which case the toilet lock is installed well above the button, at a height of 1400 mm. A good height that small children cannot reach to lock. However, should an accident occur and someone locks themselves in the toilet, the lock can be easily opened by removing the front plate from the outside and twisting the lock open. 

The lock is of solid construction and made of casting brass with a steel mechanism.
