Brick models: Two-wave brick came into fashion in the early 1900s and was the most common brick model in Finland until the 1940s until concrete brick its
Ousted.
The model of single-wave brick is based on hand-punched bricks. The brick is the same size as many hand-punched bricks and mass-produced bricks from the 1800s (only 12 bricks per m2). The brick weighs only 34 kg per m2. We recommend this brick for buildings from the 1700s to the early 1900s.
Brush bricks: Brush bricks were not commonly used until the 20th century. Before that, the ridge of the roof was covered with tarred boards or, in finer environments, with sheet metal painted black. Rakennusapteki has two types of brush bricks in its selection, the simpler old-style one-wave brush brick from 1900 and the 1930s model, where the brush bricks lock together.
