Linseed oil swamp Swamp scrubbed floor – traditional floor surface treatment – environmentally friendly Traditionally, floors have only been scrubbed to keep them clean. The floors were not oiled, varnished or painted until the mid-1800s. Swamp scrubbing is not surface treatment of the floor in the true sense of the word, its purpose was to keep the floor clean. Little by little, the scrubbing creates a pale surface that repels dirt little by little. Pine and spruce floors can be scrubbed with Suova, which becomes light and fine. No other treated floor looks the same – whatever the ads say! No floor treated with lye, oil or pigment will resemble a floor scrubbed with a real sponge. No other treatment feels the same either – a soft scrubbed floor feels completely different under bare feet than a varnished or oiled floor. The linseed oil contained in the linen mat always remains a little on the floor, because the oil is not completely soaked. Thanks to the oil, the floor gradually becomes more and more dirt-repellent. Waiting for the peat floor to mature requires patience. The floor will not have the typical appearance of a scrubbed floor for a long time. It's just satisfying to wait - and scrub the floor regularly. You don't need to scrub the floor with a brush every time, during weekly cleaning it is enough to wipe the vacuumed floor with a mop dipped in swamp water. The typical appearance of a mud floor is created by the mud, which remains on the floor when scrubbed, and by wear and tear - the patina. Scrubbing with a pad is not only a good surface treatment method - it is also an environmentally friendly option that puts very little burden on the environment. The costs of a scrubbed floor are small, almost non-existent, because washing the floor at the same time acts as a surface treatment. Paint removal The linseed oil sponge is also an excellent environmentally friendly way to remove paint and rust from the helo. Helos can either be soaked in peat moss for 1-2 days and then washed clean, or boiled helos in a strong peat solution. The subtlety of the method is that the uncured oil remains as a protective layer on the surface of the helos. Brush washing Linseed oil sponge is well suited for washing brushes and work tools. Remember to rinse the brushes well - oil from the sponge remains on the brush, which can stiffen poorly rinsed brushes. General detergent Linseed oil sponge can also be used as a general detergent. Most materials tolerate greasy linseed oil well. It is a pleasant detergent for all surfaces.
