Description
Falu red soup paint is the authentic and original Swedish red clay paint that has been used from the 16th century until today. The pigment used in Falun colors comes from the Falun ore mine in Sweden. The natural pigment from the Falun mine makes the paint unique. "Red soil" is formed from a rare copper-poor ore that has crumbled over the centuries. In addition to copper, it contains more than 20 different minerals, these include e.g. iron oxide, silicic acid and zinc oxide. The result is a warm red shade and a beautiful matte surface that reflects the light beautifully. Other red clay paints on the market are made from recycled iron and do not contain these important minerals, so they react to sunlight and change color over time and begin to turn blue. Falu Rödfärg retains its beautiful shade year after year, and thus a house painted with Falu Rödfärg does not need to be repainted as often as a house painted with ordinary red clay.
It is easy to paint with cooking paint and only one painting session is needed.
Falu Rödfärg is available in two different shades of red. The lighter 1700's colour Falu Ljusröd and the darker Falu Röd and the black Falu Svart. All products contain the same color pigment from the Falun mine. Red pigments are burned at a lower temperature, and black at a higher one.
